Simon Kemp

For the last 6 years Simon has led SHOUT, the Stratford based choir with some 40 singers and a five piece band, playing and performing uplifting soul, funk and pop music.

In 1998 formed, and for ten years led the Rhythm and Blues outfit the DR Teeth Big band, that toured nationally and internationally, playing pretty much every jazz club and festival in this country, including two tours of the States and the critically acclaimed CD, RHYTHM IS OUR BUSINESS out on the Big Bear record label.

He now plays piano and writes for the New Orleans inspired band The Night Trippers.

Work as a musical Director includes productions of RENT, The Little Shop of Horrors, The Fantastic Fairground, The Wizard of Oz, The Shakespeare Revue, Oliver.

Music Composed for the Theatre includes Tom Sawyer, The Wizard of Oz, The turn of the screw, A Taste of Honey, Sweeny Todd.

Simon works as a musician, arranger and piano teacher and regularly runs SING Gospel a singing workshop for people wanting to develop their singing.

Currently studying Rhapsody in Blue for a solo recital as part of the Stratford upon Avon music festival in June.
